    What to expect

Coming April 2017 My goal is to create longer lasting results. Because of this, I utilize the most effective bodywork techniques. All of the latest research is showing less is more in allowing your body to heal. The no pain no gain philosophy has no scientific backing and is actually being proven to delay healing. Pain causes the subconscious mind to tense up, which affects the muscles abilities to relax and heal. Therefore, I do not do "deep tissue" work but rather I facilitate the body's "deep healing" ability. I utilize soft tissue manipulation techniques that allow the subconscious brain to release holding patterns. A session may vary from the last, based on what your body is needing that session. The session will be deeply relaxing for both the body as well as the mind and soul. I incorporate gentle rhythmic movements to facilitate the release of stressful physical and mental patterns.

    Information on Light Therapy

Light Therapy is the use of Red and Infared Light to increase circulation and increase production of nitric oxide in the body. It helps increase circulation by creating new capillaries, replacing old and damaged ones with new ones. The new capillaries carry oxygen and nutrients, which speeds up the healing process, and carries toxins away. Light therapy also increases the production of collagen, the most common protein in our body which repairs and replaces damaged or old tissue. Light therapy stimulates the release of ATP, which is our energy in our cells. All food turns into ATP before it is used by our cells, so increasing ATP allows for quicker delivery of nutrients and quicker release of toxins and waste products. Light Therapy speeds up our lymphatic drainage, stimulates fibroblastic activity used in repairing of tissue, stimulates phagocytosis which aids in fighting infections, and stimulates granulation and connective tissue growth.

Because light surrounds us everyday, it’s easy to take for granted. Yet, what we perceive as light is actually a form of energy that behaves both as a wave and a stream of particles called photons.

Light streams photons to our bodies—tiny packets of energy with a number of beneficial effects such as restoring balance to the system. According to clinical studies, light therapy has been shown to increase energy; stimulate collagen, ATP and nitric oxide; reduce pain and inflammation; and reduce stress.

The session will have you sitting in a chair or lying on a massage table and include the use of light therapy pods placed on specific areas of your body. It is pleasant, completely safe, non-invasive and relaxing, Photo-therapeutic treatments have been cleared by the FDA.

    What to wear

Most of the treatment is done fully clothed. If cupping is utilized, then bare skin is required. Please wear gym type attire (ie loose shirt and shorts or yoga pants and sports bra) - refrain from wearing slippery material or tight material.

    How often

Each person is unique, so the number of sessions needed is as well. What most people find is that consistent bodywork for a set period of time is ideal for the body to relearn new patterns and break old ones. Generally, if you have had a condition causing pain for some time, you will want to come in once per week for 4 weeks in a row. For Horse or Dog Light Therapy, it is recommended to have 2 to 3 sessions in one week for maximum wellness.

    Me at age 4

My passion for my practice has to do with my own journey toward better health. I suffered with severe TMJ pain for years and tried every treatment possible. Finally, out of desperation, I elected a surgery that required the breaking of my jaw and unfortunately led to further pain, In addition, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid condition.

Finally fed up, I decided to take charge of my own health. I spent 6 years studying health and wellness.

With dietary and lifestyle changes (critical) and specific bodywork, my quality of life is so much better. I hope to share my knowledge with you to help improve your quality of life.

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my herd of 5 horses who live on my property, along with 2 dogs, my son and husband. I practice respectful horsemanship, positive reinforcement training and have studied the way a horse is meant to live naturally as well as the effects of the rider on the body mechanics of the horse. I love educating horse lovers to think like a horse!
